Casina di Rosa in Civitella Marittima is a hidden gem!

This was our 3rd trip to Toscana. Previously stayed in hotels and rented a house in Chianti countryside. The location of Casina di Rosa was just perfect for us. Having visited the small hilltop villages, this time we wanted to stay in one. Civitella Marittima is very charming small village and the people there are most friendly.

Our hosts Gloria and Marcel had done their best to make us feel at home. The small house had just been rennovated. It was very clean, comfortable and very well equipped including fireplace + wood, gas stowe, electric oven, washing machine, satelite Tv, air pump and a very good selection of quide books and maps. In the kitchen there was just everything one could think of: spices, aceto balsamico di Modena and tasty Olive oil from Gloria’s father.

The location is perfect to make one day trips to nearby cities like Siena, Firenze, Montepulciano etc. Having been to all major tourist attractions before, this time we just drove around the countryside and visited nearby places recommended by Gloria.

We enjoyed our 10 day stay in Casina di Rosa and hopefully will go back there in the near future.
