Our vacation rental reviews

Home away from home!

by Ginette and Claude, Ottawa, Canada

Located in a medieval hilltop village, the house is close to other buildings but yet is very private. It was wonderful to finally be standing in the house we had only seen pictures of. I was able to practice my basic knowledge of the Italian language with the “very patient” locals. The house has so much charm and is absolutely spotless!

Every morning we bought groceries in the village as well as fresh bread. There are also larger grocery stores in the neighboring villages. We also enjoyed long walks through the old village and it felt as if we were transported in time!

There is a fully equipped kitchen with a stone fireplace and a washing machine. (It was pretty cool to hang my cloths outside the window and it actually dried really quickly). The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare full meals. We especially enjoyed the espresso coffee machine. I’ve never drank so much coffee in my life, it was awesome! The bed is huge and comfortable with beautiful linen. I appreciated the fact that there was a large “armoire” opposite the bathroom as it made it a lot easier to get ready for out outings! In the evening we were able to relax while enjoying the wonderful Tuscan wines. Did I say how clean the house was? It was truly a home away from home and, although I know that other people use the house and that it didn’t belong to us, it actually felt as if it did!

The owners even provided a “welcome basket” which was really appreciated as we did not have time to buy groceries before the stores closed.

We were met at a nearby gas station by the owner who speaks fluent English.

We will return to Italy soon but next time we plan on staying at Casina di Rosa at least two weeks. Tuscany is the most beautiful place on earth!

There is a wonderful restaurant called “La Locanda nel Cassero” where we enjoyed a wonderful meal and excellent service. The village flower shop carries beautiful gifts and the owner is a very friendly and wonderful lady.
